MILTON KEYNES
22nd May 2011

With Richard back from surgery we started our endurance season late with the intention of learning the demands of the championship while preparing to mount a championship challenge in 2012. The grid consisted of 29 teams.

We prepared very well and in our first outing managed to qualify third on the grid. While on the starting grid we attempted to fire up the kart and we had a failed battery! The organisers and other drivers kindly let us change battery and start as normal. We were very competitive and were in second place for the first three hours of the race then we got a puncture! We pitted and changed the wheel but this cost us around ten minutes. We rejoined in 12 position. While working our way up the order again, we posted the fasted lap which stood for the day and ended up as the new lap record.

Positioned 5th we made our final fuel stop, tried to start the kart and the second battery had run flat! We changed battery again and finished the race in 6th position. We were also awarded the new comers cup!
